Name: Yerika

Location: Bolingbrook, Illinois

Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Yerika now resides in Bolingbrook, Illinois, where she whips up delicious vegan cupcakes at her bakery, Azucar Vegan Bakery. With mouthwatering cupcake flavors such as the Colombiano Coffee and Chocolate Amor, she says she is "[s]aving the world one cupcake at a time."

There's also much more to this multifaceted beauty: Yerika is also a makeup artist, photographer, dental assistant, and substance-abuse counselor. Another one of her many talents is advocating for animal rights. Yerika says, "I like when people—strangers, friends, or family—come to me and ask me, 'How can I be vegan like you? What can I do to help animals?'" Yerika once convinced a friend to go vegan on the spot after teaching her about the horrible abuses suffered by pigs on factory farms.


Name: John

Location: Wakefield, Rhode Island

John from Wakefield, Rhode Island, torched the competition to become the Sexiest Vegan Next Door for 2013. When this firefighter isn't putting out blazes, you might find him cooking vegan meals for his fellow firefighters at the Warwick Fire Department. John has even convinced a few other firefighters to go vegan, too!

Following the advice of his doctor, John decided to ditch all animal products in order to avoid heart disease. John reports that his cholesterol dropped considerably to 141 and continues to remain at a healthy level. And he says, "[A]ll of the little health annoyances I lived with for years have pretty much disappeared as well. … I feel as good as I've ever felt in my life."


Tiana Rae

Name: Tiana Rae

Location: San Jose, California

A real-life "beauty queen" from California, Tiana Rae, who was named Miss National Asia, uses her crown and banner to champion animals. At the age of 19, she even got a pageant in Hong Kong to serve contestants vegetarian meals! When she's not studying for her degree in child development, Tiana enjoys modeling, playing online games, and spending time with her rescued cat, Chanel Genevieve Pumpkinseed. As a Christian, Tiana practices mercy at every meal. She says, "I look leaner, I'm more energetic, but the most important health benefit is psychological. There is no guilt from my diet. I no longer have to worry about the day I enter heaven and have to look into the eyes of all those I have eaten and apologize."


Name: Zachary

Location: Brooklyn, New York

Zachary first went vegetarian at just 10 years old, and he made the switch to a vegan diet after getting a job at a popular vegan restaurant on the New York City's Upper West Side. Originally hailing from Portland, Oregon, and now calling Brooklyn home, he fuels his active lifestyle—which includes yoga, rock climbing, and biking—by loading up on delicious vegan foods. He's always been interested in healthy living and cites the health benefits of a vegan diet as an added bonus that will help him combat his family history of diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. His turn-ons include vegan men, compassion, authenticity, and a good sense of humor. Zachary says, "There's nothing sexier than showing—and living—compassion towards animals, the world, and yourself."

Location: Lookout Mountain, Tennessee

This stunning redheaded photographer, model, and opera singer hails from Tennessee. A proud vegan, wife, and mother, Kate made the switch to a plant-based diet back in 2009 after she saw a news story about a dog who had been abused. She then realized that the only difference between our animal companions and the animals who are killed for food is how we treat them. When she's not busy snapping photos, modeling, singing, or looking after her vegetarian baby girl, she enjoys writing, hiking, and playing video games. This slim and trim beauty also loves working out, and she credits her vegan diet with giving her the ability to curl more than the boys at the gym! She says, "Being vegan has brought out the 'me' I've always wanted to be." Kate, we like the you that you've become!

Location: Waconia, Minnesota

This charming scientist, who studied molecular biology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, uses plants as medicine and the kitchen as his laboratory. After reading The China Study, Jason went vegan one year after going vegetarian. As a self-proclaimed expert chef, he's he is accustomed to wowing friends and family with mouthwatering vegan cuisine. In addition to cooking, he enjoys traveling with his wife, practicing yoga, speaking out against the fur industry and puppy mills, and pampering his three adopted animal companions, Roxy, Ziggy, and Truman. Jason attributes his health, fitness, and energy to his vegan diet. According to Jason, "Nothing is sexier than a compassionate individual," and we couldn't agree more.



Name: Marie

Location: Bonita Springs, Florida

This Israeli-born beauty has been an animal lover since childhood and has been a vegetarian since her teens. But Marie doesn't spend her time thinking about what she can't eat as a vegetarian—she spends her days creating delicious gourmet food from a plethora of cruelty-free ingredients in her job as a personal chef! She says, "I have the opportunity to counsel my clients on the benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle and have proven through my recipes that you can create meals that are healthy and animal-friendly and that veggies can indeed be very tasty!" She loves challenging herself in order to prove that vegetarian cooking can be delicious and sophisticated, whether she's preparing an appetizer or a seven-course meal. The veggie chef's turn-ons include animal lovers and compassionate people.


Name: Loyal

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Loyal has been a vegetarian for more than 10 years and credits his meat-free diet with providing the energy that he needs to maintain his very active lifestyle. He enjoys extreme adventuring, "travelanthropy," volunteering, and attending PETA rallies, and he has even hiked the Appalachian Trail. To fuel the long trek, Loyal snacked on soy jerky and became the unofficial ambassador of vegetarian hiking! He says that when he's off the trail, one of the things he enjoys most about being vegetarian is the variety of food that's available. "One of the most common misconceptions about being a vegetarian or vegan is that you're stuck with salads," he says. "I've eaten such a rich array of food since being a vegetarian. My culinary world is limitless. Moroccan, Ethiopian, Thai, Vietnamese, it's never a dull moment." He is headed to Haiti in the near future and then plans to go hiking in Europe. One thing's certain—for this sexy vegetarian, the adventure never ends.

Location: Minnetonka, Minnesota

Amber, a Minnesota native, decided to go vegetarian after reading the book Skinny Bitch and doing research on making the switch, and she's thrilled with the results! In addition to feeling stronger both mentally and physically, she loves knowing that her carbon footprint is smaller, thanks to her vegetarian diet. Amber is the very proud guardian of several rescued animal companions, and she spends time volunteering for the Minnesota Boxer Rescue. She even lets her love for animals carry over into her work as a photographer. Amber's major turn-ons are confidence, bad boys who have a heart for animals, tattoos, and creativity.


Name: Monty

Location: Los Angeles, California

Monty initially switched to a vegetarian diet for health reasons, but after he learned how factory farming affects animals and the environment, his convictions were reinforced, and he went vegan! He owns a visual-arts firm, and his photos capture the essence of a wide variety of timely issues, including President Barack Obama's presidential campaign. Monty shares his home with Zeus, a Chihuahua he took in after he found him wandering on Hollywood Boulevard. He considers analytical minds and compassionate hearts to be turn-ons and is turned off by people who aren't open-minded. He loves to travel and will soon retrace the steps of the man who discovered the North Pole.

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Shona is a Salt Lake City native who considers a sense of humor, open-mindedness, smiley faces, positive attitudes, motivation, and goal-oriented people to be turn-ons. Her lifelong close connection with companion animals made her realize how unnatural it is to eat any animals. Now she is vegetarian and couldn't be happier! She says that she has never been healthier, her body is more toned, and she needs less sleep. She has even convinced many of her friends to try Boca burgers.


Name: Chris

Location: Panorama, British Columbia, Canada

Chris was drafted into the National Hockey League at the age of 19 but later sustained an unfortunate injury. He says that going vegetarian around the time he was injured helped him recover and become a bigger, stronger, and faster athlete. He also says that thanks to his vegetarian diet, he rarely feels tired or sick and that "[k]nowing that I am saving animals' lives makes me feel more alive every day."



Name: Jessica

Location: Clemson, South Carolina

Jessica, a student of preveterinary medicine at Clemson University, shows that brains, beauty, and compassion go hand in hand. Her parents are so proud of her educational goals that they've promised to go vegetarian for a year immediately after she graduates. But Jessica doesn't spend all her time in the library—she does some modeling for fun and frequently volunteers for PETA. Name: Drew

Location: East Lansing, Michigan

A journalism and English student at Michigan State University (MSU), Drew is multitalented—he can solve a Rubik's Cube, wiggle his ears, and bench-press 240 pounds, and he's a skilled pool player. He speaks out for animals frequently on campus, providing MSU's cafeteria staff with vegetarian recipes and educating students about buying cruelty-free products. Of his companion dog, Cujo—whom he adopted from a local humane society—Drew says, "Although he's a bit self-centered at times, we all love him."



Name: Stephanie

Location: Toronto

Stephanie is a talented artist and actor. She is also outspoken for animals—she has participated in demonstrations against KFC's cruelty to chickens, and she organized an Animal Rights Day at her school. She raves about the terrific vegetarian-friendly restaurants in Toronto, which PETA has named one of the most vegetarian-friendly cities in North America. What does Stephanie list as her biggest turn-off? Guys who fish. "There's nothing sexy about abusing a small animal," she told us.


Name: Ricky

Location: Lawrence, Kansas

Ricky often travels to Latin America to do volunteer medical work in poorer communities. A big fan of Burger King's BK Veggie and Subway's Veggie Delight, he enjoys soccer and playing music. Ricky cites great vegetarian peacemakers Gandhi and the Dalai Lama as inspirations for his switch to a more humane, healthy diet.
