Hosted by actor and PETA supporter Alec Baldwin, PETA's 30th Anniversary Gala and Humanitarian Awards Show celebrated 30 years of groundbreaking work for animals and honored activists and celebrities for their dedication to PETA's animal rights campaigns around the globe. The evening's honorees were as follows:
Also in attendance were Pamela Anderson, Wilmer Valderrama, Joaquin Phoenix, Casey Affleck, Kelly Osbourne, James Cromwell, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Fred Willard, Jay Hernandez, Iggy Pop, Yvonne Strahovski, Sophia Bush, Owain Yeoman, Lucy Davis, Jim Parsons, Jena Malone, and more! Check out our photo gallery.
Guests were brought to tears during a moving tribute to PETA's investigators delivered by Casey Affleck and Joaquin Phoenix. This was followed by a powerful performance by rock star Bryan Adams, who performed his hit "Everything I Do" as scenes from PETA investigations and rescues played on giant screens.
Attendees also participated in a silent auction featuring items from artists, celebrities, and companies that have a firm commitment to PETA's values. Some of the popular items included lunch with Tim Gunn of Project Runway, a five-year supply of "PETA Peanut Butter" from Peanut Butter & Co., two VIP tickets to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, dinner with Ingrid E. Newkirk, a tattoo by celebrity tattoo artist Mario Barth, a new all-electric Nissan Leaf car, and a personal training session for two with The Biggest Loser's Bob Harper.
To get the party started, guests tapped their feet to the musical beats of Street Drum Corps, a unique punk-rock percussion band who opened and closed out the evening. To heat up the after party, guests celebrated and danced the night away to the sounds of DJ Bill Coleman and enjoyed a dynamic performance by the all-female dance crew, The Beat Freaks.
We'd especially like to thank the gift-bag and corporate sponsors for making PETA's 30th anniversary gala a memorable and unforgettable event for all attendees.
