Every year, 50 million animals suffer and die for their skins, yet they cannot ask for the abuse to stop. That's up to us.

Use your voice and blow the whistle on fur—here's how!

Make Some Noise

Get yourself a whistle! It gives a whole new meaning to using your voice. We need to expose the suffering that goes into every piece of clothing that contains fur. Be sure to be mindful of your surroundings and keep it polite—a little can go a long way!

Wear It Proud

Let people know that you don't support the cruel fur industry with this eye-catching No Fur" V-neck T-shirt.

Educate

Arm yourself with all the facts about animals who are skinned alive on fur farms, and inform the world about what goes into every fur-trimmed hat, jacket, and bag.

  • Eighty-five percent of the fur industry's skins come from animals on fur farms who spend their entire lives confined to cramped, filthy wire cages.
  • Fur farmers use the cheapest and cruelest killing methods available, including suffocation, electrocution, gassing, and poisoning.
  • Every fur coat, lining, or piece of trim represents the intense suffering of animals, and this cruelty will end only when the public refuses to buy or wear fur.

Find Your Location

Choose a location where you can get the attention of fur-wearers. Be sure to allow a few weeks to secure any permits that you might need. You usually don't need a permit to hold a demonstration on a public sidewalk as long as you don't block pedestrian traffic or go into the street. Permits are usually needed for street marches or when a stationary object, such as a table, is required. When in doubt, use common sense and keep it civil.

Invite Your Friends

Now that you have all your tools, gather up some friends to really grab fur-wearers' attention—the more, the merrier! Need more animal advocates in your crew? Share this information with everyone you know on Facebook and Twitter to find like-minded people who'll join your compassionate team! You can also post information about your event on the local animal rights Meetup group if there is one.

Record a Video

Don't forget to shoot video at the demonstration and post it on YouTube! Tweet us a link to your YouTube video with the hashtag #NeverBeSilent, and we'll retweet it so that everyone can see your hard work for animals.

Be sure to take photos of your event! You can tweet us your photos with the hashtag #NeverBeSilent for a chance to be retweeted or featured on the website.
