Lisa Gersbach, Animal Control, Texas Lisa witnessed horrific conditions and unthinkable acts of cruelty in a Texas shelter and rallied for outside help. She literally risked it all for the sake of the animals. She is an incredible hero.

I also take every chance I get to inform others around me of what's really going on inside the walls of slaughter houses. I always use those opportunities to me advantage to spread the word and promote animal rights.

I nominate Denise Costa. She is an animal activist/author who is having a book published that focuses on the plight of unwanted dogs searching for their forever home. A percentage of the profits will go to various animal welfare organizations.
